Under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, assists in the data entry and processing of prescriptions in the clinical department.Assists the clinical pharmacist in all related duties of patient care. Coordinates patient care.Maintains contact with patients to assess needs and follows through to ensure compliance and consistency of appropriate drug use as directed by the pharmacist.Performs billing and file maintenance.Interacts and communicates with the public.Directly reports to the clinical pharmacist on duty.

Requires high school diploma or GED.Requires valid State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician licensure.Two years of previous retail pharmacy experience preferred.Typing skills of 40 wpm required. Must have the ability to maintain (lift, carry, stack) up to 40 lbs. of pharmacy inventory.Proficiency in Microsoft officeInitiates Prior Authorizations, Pre-Certifications, Pre-Determinations and Advanced Benefit Determination requests for new and existing patients.Performs pharmacy test claims and follow-up regarding results.Demonstrates ability to work effectively and maintain expected productivity.Ensures accuracy of information being provided to Management for review.Manages time appropriately based on prioritiesDemonstrates a high degree of personal responsibility regarding accuracy and quality of work.Works with pharmacy, medical team, intake, social workers, billing and collection teams to resolve claim or prescription issues
