Brief Description

Operations Customer Service Specialist 2 (Commercial Loan Documentation Specialist) prepares and/or reviews commercial and real estate loan documentation in accordance with legal requirements, regulatory statutes and Huntington credit policy and procedures within expected service levels.

Detailed Description

  • Operations Customer Service Specialist 2 (Commercial Loan Documentation Specialist) prepares and/or reviews commercial and real estate loan documentation in accordance with legal requirements, regulatory statutes and Huntington credit policy and procedures within expected service levels.

  • Advises lending personnel regarding credit policy, documentation and compliance.

  • Determines deficiencies and exceptions in loan documentation for the purpose of exception reporting and/or correcting.

  • Works with legal department and other outside professionals in coordinating efforts associated with loan documentation and exception clearing.

  • Ensures proper loan and collateral documentation by staying abreast of and interpreting various laws, regulations, policies and procedures of loan documentation.

  • Follows, or in some cases establishes, as required, effective controls and processes to ensure risks are measured, monitored and controlled and compliance requirements are adhered to on an on-going basis.

  • May assist less experienced employees.

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • 1-3 years banking experience

  • Previous experience with reviewing and analyzing data

  • Proficiency in LaserPro or documentation proficiency

  • Strong written and verbal communication as well as organizational skills

  • Ability to interact with internal customers to achieve positive results and work in a fast-paced, production environmental within service level

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Paralegal Certificate, Associate Degree in related field or equivalent combination of experience preferred.

  • AFS, CLOS and/or Velocity system experience preferable

  • Experience with the Flood Disaster Protection Act

  • Knowledge of collateral and financial transactions preferable

  • Ability to manage time effectively

  • Detail-oriented and thorough

  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)

  • Ability to problem-solve

  • Demonstrated dependability (attendance)

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment adhering to the service level agreement and quality requirements

  • PC skills to include Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes, as well as knowledge of HNB mainframe systems.

Could be hired at SR grade 70 level based on experience
