Jackson National Life Insurance Company Release Coordinator in Lansing, Michigan
The Release Coordinator manages the movement of code through all controlled environments, beginning with integration and ending with production and is involved in all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle, including prioritization and planning. During the process, the Release Coordinator confirms that the release deployment plan is followed and that all applicable release deliverables have been completed in accordance with standard processes and that deadlines are met.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
Manages and controls the release planning, schedule, and execution to support the development process, including all release activities such as communicating implementation plans, status, and issues to senior management.
Defines and documents release recommendations for each release including scope, schedule, deliverables, and roll back plan.
Supports, coordinates, and tracks all elements of the release as the projects move through regions from integration into production, enforcing a lock down policy that controls when changes are added to the code library.
Oversees release decisions and processes in terms of big picture and cross-departmental impacts.
Maintains a historical library of changes that tracks source code and performs periodic reviews to ensure that production environments are in sync with the libraries and that unauthorized code is not present.
Coordinates with internal IT groups to confirm outages, black-out periods, deployments, and upgrades.
Works with management to create release management standards and educates internal groups on the release methodology and strategy.
Integrates the release process with other IT processes.
Analyzes trends in relation to releases and related processes to find improvement opportunities.
Presents information to clients and peers.
Performs other special projects or duties as assigned.

Strong knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle.
Strong knowledge of MS Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access.

Education & Experience Required
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and/or education.
3-5 years of relevant experience required.
