Manufacturing Maintenance Electrician
SUMMARY The essential functions of this position are to complete analysis and communications to support continuous production and engineering. Builds, installs, and repairs electrical and electronic circuit wiring used on machine tools, plant equipment, and building. Test and troubleshoot faulty equipment and circuits within the facility. Ensures all wiring adheres to the NEC compliance requirements. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following. Other duties related to this classification may be assigned. 1. Analyzes, diagnoses, and determines extent of repairs. Performs dismantling, fitting, assembly, repair or replacement of parts on production machinery, building and related equipment. 2. Able to diagnose minor mechanical problems and make necessary repairs. 3. Maintains and repairs all electrical equipment, inside and outside of plant grounds. 4. Moves, installs and connects any equipment and machinery as required 5. Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment. 6. Connects cables and wires between machines and equipment. 7. Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatuses such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables. 8. Operates electrical diagnostic equipment to repair or replace parts. Uses hand tools, drawings, shop handbooks, soldering irons, industrial trucks, etc. 9. Tests malfunctioning machinery and discuss malfunction with other maintenance workers, such as General Maintenance, Machine Repair/Rebuild and Tool Maker, to diagnose malfunction. 10. Replaces faulty electrical components on machines such as relays, switches, and motors. 11. Responsible for cleaning equipment and repaired items in area upon completion of repairs. 12. Records work performed following maintenance procedures. 13. Supplies own tools as used for this work. 14. Requisitions replacement parts and supplies. 15. Responsible for stocking, cleaning and maintaining maintenance area. 16. Responsible for orderly storage of manuals, drawings, sketches, and spare parts. 17. Assists in training new hires or apprentices. 18. Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings. REQUIREMENTS: • Candidate should understand limit switches, motors, pumps, proximity switches, fiber optic switches, air and hydraulic cylinders • Able to understand Relay and PLC logic • Panel building experience • Manufacturing and/or industrial processing experience • Experienced troubleshooting automation QUALITY Knowledgeable of and adherence to ISO system documents, procedures and work instructions regarding the duties above. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Technical degree; Journeyman's Card; or seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
