Responsibilities:
A Nurse Assistant works under the direction and supervision of the RN or physician. It provides a broad variety of care for a group of patients. This may included delegated components of the assessment and discharge process, basic patient education, components of the admission process, unit specific treatments/procedure and diagnostic modalities, activities of daily living, and dietary assistance.
Requirements:High school education or G.E.D required. Requires the ability to lift 75 pounds and frequently lift/carry 50 pounds as the position requires lots of physical activity. Previous experience as a Nurse Assistant, successful completion of a nurse assistant training course or completion of the first semester of a clinical rotation in nursing is preferred. Must be in good physical and mental health. Requires activities such as pushing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, feeling, hearing, talking, and seeing. Must have ability to cope with physical and mental stress.
Note:
This position requires Lakeland'' Nurse Assistant training that is 1-2 week in length, full time from 8am-5pm. Must have availability to work a minimum of 4 shifts a month (2 of those shifts are on the weekend). Must have availability to work one winter and one summer holiday in a calendar year. Must have flexibility to float between theSt. JosephandNileshospital location.
