          Advanced Development Manager

          The Technical Department at SRG Global headquarters in Warren, Michigan is searching for an Advanced Development professional with a passion for bringing to market new product innovations to help differentiate the SRG product portfolio from the competition

          As the leader of the Advanced Development department you would be responsible for the research and development, product development, and transfer to production of new products, processes and finishes with your team. This individual will be responsible to manage the process of idea prioritization and operate within the SRG Advanced Development Process with cooperation from the Business Development, commercial, applications engineering, and creative departments to generate, develop and introduce these concepts into the SRG product portfolio.

          The ideal candidate will possess the skills and knowledge sought below but, of equal importance, he or she will be self motivated, possess a positive attitude, and be a creative thinker. This is a “hands-on” position that will work across the global organization in a competitive atmosphere. Working effectively with cross-functional teams is crucial for success.

          Job Description


          • Direct all Advanced Development programs.

          • Coordination of corporate strategy for products, process and finishes. Define technologies, products, and manufacturing methods to assist SRG in achieving its business goals.

          • Develop and execute technology road maps to support the strategic goals of SRG

          • Staff the advanced development groups accordingly to ensure successful and on-time completion of development projects

          • Develop key performance metrics and reporting process to monitor progress against goals.

          • Representing technology to the customer, suppliers, and technical community

          • Regular reporting of development results and recommended actions to a broad internal audience of leaders, scientists and production staff.

          • Interfacing with the marketing team, and widespread production teams to develop new product / process requirements and specifications.

          • Up to 30% domestic and international travel is required.

          • Support the customer in the development and validation of designs that meet the inputs and technical requirements specified.

          • Responsible for drafting and maintaining applicable engineering request documents specific to assigned projects, including DFMEA, DVP&R and GD&T requirements

          • Responsible for conducting brainstorming events and developing initial concepts for new development activity
            Job Requirements :


          • Demonstrated understanding of best practices in idea generation and prioritization, and advanced development process from idea to concept ready.


          • Demonstrate a high degree of leadership skills that allow the individual to influence all levels of the organization and make positive change.

          • Display the capacity to use diplomacy to reach common goals.

          • Experience in researching, developing and implementing new products into an existing asset base.

          • Innovative thought process

          • Leading well planned technology transfer to assure that best practices and new learning are implemented uniformly across the production base.

          • Ability to develop and grow strong relationships with external partners and research institutes.

          • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement the product technical road map

          • Experience and working knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA and APQP process

          • Good working knowledge of descriptive geometry, surface development capability, body sheet metal knowledge, and assembly drawing layout.

          BACKGROUND
          * Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Chemical, or Materials Engineering, or related field.
          * 10+ year’s industrial experience of managing and leading complex, fast moving technology projects with increasing levels of responsibility.
          * Demonstrated strategic planning skills and ability to lead in process and culture development.
          * Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
          * Ability to make decisions and take action under pressure.
          * Experience of statistical DoE and root cause analysis.
          * Excellent communication and presentation skills, ability to interact with all levels and functions of customers, styling, engineering and purchasing.
