          Design Release Engineer- Hybrid Energy Storage Systems

          PURPOSE: Design and Release power battery components for global electrification applications.

          ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
          - Develop engineering designs and generate technical solutions for current, major, or new programs
          - Manages component quality, mass, cost, and timing to meet program imperatives.
          - Plans and directs supplier engineering services
          - Identify and manage development activities as appropriate
          - Directs the analysis, design, releases and test of parts and/or subsystems for production
          - Communicates, coordinates and consults with engineering departments and customers
          - Provide feedback to management (i.e. progress to timing, evaluation of test results)

          DELIVERABLES:
          - Release component designs on-time with excellence
          - Assure pre-production properties built and shipped test ready and on-time
          - Provide analysis plan for design responsible components
          - Provide interface requirements for mating parts
          - Manage change control for design responsible components
          - Timely resolution to all problem reports
          - Product validation rigorously completed on-time

          Qualifications
          Required Skills and Experience:
          - BS in Engineering or equivalent experience
          - Candidate should possess 5 plus years experience in a related area
          - Highly developed oral and written communication skills
          - High level of understanding of Robust Engineering tools/methods (i.e. DFMEA, DFA, DFSS, trade studies, best practices)
          - High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
          - High level of problem solving skills
          - Ability to use CAD tools
          - Ability to manage multiple project assignment as well as identify and remove roadblocks
          - Self motivating

          Preferred Skills and Experience:
          - 5+ years Project management proficiency
          - 3+ years experience in hybrid & electric propulsion engineering
          - CAD experience using Unigraphics tools
          - Experience with the General Motors E2 release and change control system
          - Plastics design and processing background
          - MS in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
          - DFSS Black Belt
          - RED X training
