Join us!Quality TechnicianAmerican Axle Manufacturing is looking for experienced Quality Technicians to join the team at our Auburn Hills Manufacturing Facility. Quality technicians are required to perform visual, mechanical, dimensional or functional inspection of products, and apply established inspection procedures.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:•CMM Checks, including writing CMM programs.•Daily First Piece Approval (FPA) inspections for production.•Working with Production/Engineering to troubleshoot problems.•Training operators on proper gaging and inspection techniques.•Gage RR Annual Study Notifications.•Gage Calibrations.•Perform LPA audits as scheduled.•Assist with writing and updating SOP's and Work Instructions.•Assist in creating and revising controlled plans.•Assist with the maintenance of SPC program.•Assist and create inspection work instructions, one point lessons.Positon Requirements:•Ability to interpret part drawings and tolerances.•Knowledge and use of various inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers.•Past experience with CNC Machines.•Some knowledge of ISO quality systems.•High School Diploma or GED required•2+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience•Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.•Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.•Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to read and interpret measuring devices (calipers, rulers, blueprints, etc.).•Possess a keen sense of attention to detail.•Ability to work overtime.•Ability to read and comprehend detailed and specific instructions.
