Title: 2nd Shift Manufacturing Molding Technician

Location: United States-Michigan-Caledonia

Other Locations:

Shift: 2nd (some weekends)

Responsibilities for this position are but not limited to:

  • Supports the quality system including the quality manual, quality policy, and applicable procedures and work instructions

  • Consults with other Maintenance, Engineering and Manufacturing employees to identify and resolve all molding maintenance issues in a timely manner

  • Identifies and troubleshoot processes, material or equipment problems to minimize down time

  • Improves system performance to achieve process requirements and eliminate repetitive downtimes

  • Performs preventative maintenance, equipment repairs, equipment improvements, equipment upgrades, and equipment installations on the factory equipment in assigned areas

  • Performs tooling set-up/changeovers in a timely manner according to schedule

  • Provides process/product support to organization to address production concerns

  • Ensures that maintenance coverage for production areas is provided for at all times

  • Maintains 5S environment in work area and Tool Shop

  • Follows lock out tag out procedures and all other safety rules where required

  • Proactively participates in Kaizen events and creating a continuous improvement culture

  • Maintains and displays strong attendance habits by being present and on time

  • Performs other task and assignments as assigned by Manager

  • Perform preventative maintenance on molding equipment and molds

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma

  • 3-5 years of related hands on experience

  • Advanced certification level training or associates degree preferred

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • General skills and expertise related to injection molding maintenance activities

  • Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite

  • Basic knowledge of injection molding practices

  • Great mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical problems

  • Positive teamwork and attitude required to support the manufacturing environment

  • Proficient verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
