Henry Ford Health System Peri-Operative Assistant III (Full Time Afternoon Shift) Clinton Township Campus in Clinton Township, Michigan

Under general supervision and following established policies and procedures, provides service support for assigned Operating Room (O.R.) area(s) related to services, patient transport, preparation and cleaning of the operating room, cleaning, disinfecting and sterilization of equipment, and patient preparation. Assists O.R. personnel in the positioning and maintenance of patient safety.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required. Minimum of 1-2 years experience in surgical services, sterile processing, or other related departments with similar skillset. LICENSURES/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Must have current BLS Healthcare Provider certification or become within one month of hire date. BLS Healthcare Provider certified. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Prolonged standing, walking, bending and lifting. Physical ability to lift patients and move patients, supplies and equipment. Works in a patient care area environment which may include extreme temperature variations, exposure to communicable diseases, unpleasant odors, acute patient conditions, potential exposure to infection, radiation, laser, and hazardous gases. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Position requires movement of heavy equipment. Rapid paced environment to turn over operating rooms.On-call, weekend,and holiday rotation are required.
