CooperStandard Finance Relationship Sr. Manager in Novi, Michigan

_Position Summary:_

The Manager, GBS NA will serve as the ambassador between our Global Business Services (GBS) center in Europe and our customers, both internal and external, in North America. The goals of this position are to increase customer satisfaction, expand the scope of GBS current delivery model, and drive increased effectiveness and efficiency within GBS by collaborating with stakeholders to ensure the strategic business needs are identified and communicated to the GBS Steering Committee to ensure they are considered in the GBS strategic plan. Additionally, this position will manage our accounts payable team located in Torreon, Mexico and support projects and continuous improvement initiatives in the North America region.

_Primary Responsibilities:_

  • Build relationships with the business and functional areas so the GBS consolidation initiative is successful, creditable, and sustainable

  • Build relationships with business and functional areas in North America to anticipate and understand strategic business needs and serve as the ambassador for GBS with the region

  • Serve as point of contact for issue elevation for North America stakeholders and assist with issue resolution by creating a culture of open problem-solving, root cause analysis, and leading practice sharing with a strong focus on supporting standardized process, policies, and procedures to allow GBS to increase efficiency and make quality improvements while focusing on customer requirements.

  • Make sense of complex information to effectively analyze situations and information from multiple and diverse sources to solve problems and ensure balance amongst diverse stakeholder needs

  • Ensure internal and external customers’ expectations are understood, documented, and communicated to GBS and North America functional leadership teams (Purchasing, Sales, Finance)

  • Collaborate with GBS managers and internal stakeholders to define Service Level Agreements for North America locations and GBS team

  • Provide timely and transparent metrics, KPIs, and SLA details to stakeholders via self-serve delivery method to allow the function to deliver an effective and efficient service.

  • Apply subject matter expertise and industry knowledge to advance the GBS strategic plan, goals, and global processes through educating stakeholders about the function and value adding opportunities

  • Instills trust with customers by balancing the needs of all stakeholders by collaborating via regular meetings, reports, and interviews to ensure open, honest, effective, two-way communication

  • Communicate, promote, and manage the company’s vision with respect to GBS strategy, goals, and plan to achieve results

  • Provide leadership to the accounts payable team located in Torreon, Mexico

o Drive standardization to the global AP processes, including Coupa

o Maintain strong internal controls

o Travel and expense reports are completed and audited per company policy

o Legal and tax requirements are maintained

o Accurate and timely period end closes are done

o Account reconciliations are completed timely and all reconciling items are brought to resolution

_Education and Qualifications:_

  • Ten years progressive management experience

  • 4 Year College or University Degree in accounting or finance required or equivalent education

  • MBA desirable

  • Experience in multiple functional areas of the automotive industry: Sales, Purchasing, Finance, Accounting, Accounts Payable, Account Receivable strongly preferred

  • Able to build collaborative relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization

  • Able to analyze and manage complex situations and balance stakeholders’ needs and expectations and make timely end effective decisions

  • Understand the broad business goals and needs of internal and external customers and shared service concepts

  • Able to influence people by being authentic, resilient, and adaptable

_Work Environment/Work Conditions:_

  • Professional Office Environment

  • Must wear proper personal protection equipment while on manufacturing floor

  • Travel to manufacturing facilities or customer locations when required

  • Equipment used requires proper training on the potential for and avoidance of injury
