Job Description
Overall Responsibilities
Determine reliability requirements of electronic products in cooperation with all functional disciplines.
Apply systems engineering approach to deconstruct and simplify reliability planning and estimation.
Lead the collection of loads by physical measurements and analytical estimations with the extended cross-functional team.
Derive physical loads on products and components and determine corresponding stresses by working cross-disciplinary with simulation engineers and laboratory.
Define, determine, report and document Design Validation Plans (DVP&R), Quality/Reliability Test Plans and Technical Customer Documentation
Perform Risk Analysis and Assessments on reliability topics with focus on Physics of Failure
Support the concept and detailed design process from the Design for Reliability perspective, assessing the implications of loads, stresses against materials strengths
Engage in technical discussions and negotiations with key stakeholders and customers about Design Validation Plans
Technical Responsibilities
Develop tools, models and methods to predict reliability in automotive electronics
Conduct user, use case and environmental application analysis
Estimate failure probabilities and reliability life through mathematical models and statistical methods
Derive and breakdown physical loads applied on the products from multiple sources
Derive field relevant physical load profiles (structural, thermal, thermomechanical, environmental) and apply knowledge –based correlation with laboratory tests based on failure mechanisms.
Hands-on data gathering of vehicle loads and conditions. Data processing and interpretation for application in automotive electronics.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
M.Sc. in Engineering
3 or more years of experience reliability engineering role
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge in Engineering Statistics
Preferred: Knowledge in Reliability Engineering Statistics
Knowledge in Reliasoft, Matlab, and Minitab
Programming knowledge in Python, Matlab and/or C/C++
Knowledge in Engineering Mechanics Elasticity and Plasticity Theory, Fracture Mechanics, Tribology, and other Engineering Mechanics fields
