Job Description

Overall Responsibilities

  • Determine reliability requirements of electronic products in cooperation with all functional disciplines.

  • Apply systems engineering approach to deconstruct and simplify reliability planning and estimation.

  • Lead the collection of loads by physical measurements and analytical estimations with the extended cross-functional team.

  • Derive physical loads on products and components and determine corresponding stresses by working cross-disciplinary with simulation engineers and laboratory.

  • Define, determine, report and document Design Validation Plans (DVP&R), Quality/Reliability Test Plans and Technical Customer Documentation

  • Perform Risk Analysis and Assessments on reliability topics with focus on Physics of Failure

  • Support the concept and detailed design process from the Design for Reliability perspective, assessing the implications of loads, stresses against materials strengths

  • Engage in technical discussions and negotiations with key stakeholders and customers about Design Validation Plans

Technical Responsibilities

  • Develop tools, models and methods to predict reliability in automotive electronics

  • Conduct user, use case and environmental application analysis

  • Estimate failure probabilities and reliability life through mathematical models and statistical methods

  • Derive and breakdown physical loads applied on the products from multiple sources

  • Derive field relevant physical load profiles (structural, thermal, thermomechanical, environmental) and apply knowledge –based correlation with laboratory tests based on failure mechanisms.

  • Hands-on data gathering of vehicle loads and conditions. Data processing and interpretation for application in automotive electronics.


Basic Qualifications

  • M.Sc. in Engineering

  • 3 or more years of experience reliability engineering role

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge in Engineering Statistics

  • Preferred: Knowledge in Reliability Engineering Statistics

  • Knowledge in Reliasoft, Matlab, and Minitab

  • Programming knowledge in Python, Matlab and/or C/C++

  • Knowledge in Engineering Mechanics Elasticity and Plasticity Theory, Fracture Mechanics, Tribology, and other Engineering Mechanics fields
