MEC Inc. Shipping & Receiving Coordinator, 1st Shift in Vanderbilt, Michigan

Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. Assists with receiving inspections and inventory management.

Compares identifying information and counts, weighs or measures items outgoing or incoming shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, packing slips, address labels and other records.

Coordinates scheduled shipments with customer service and packing.

Determines method of shipment.

Performs all necessary computer transactions.

Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.

Researches late parts, identifies and brings bottlenecks to manufacturing's attention.

Expedites, as needed any late deliveries.

Tracks on-time delivery as well as late shipments with reason as to why the shipments are late.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). One to three months related experience and/or training is preferred.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos written in English. Ability to write simple correspondence in English. Ability to effectively present information in English in one-on-one and small group situations.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must be certified for forklift.

MUST HAVE OR BE WILLING TO OBTAIN CLASS "A" CDL.

Other Qualifications

Ability to operate computer. Ability to operate weight scales.
