style="text-align: center;"emNotice of Intent to Employ/emem /emem /em Position: Long Term Substitute Middle School Math Teacher Servicing Academy of Warren Summary: The Substitute Math Teacher provides services as an employee of PESG by providing instruction, encouraging the students and managing the learning environment in a positive manner. Essential Job Functions (note this is not an exhaustive list of the duties performed for this position):ulliReport to the office upon arrival, check out at end of the day/liliMeet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times specified/liliCreates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning/liliMaintain accurate, complete and correct records of the day/liliPlan, supervise and provide guidance for student(s), teacher aide(s) and volunteer(s)/liliUse excellent professional judgment and discretion in supervising the class/liliAssist students with any help they may need with their work/liliTidy up the classroom after the day has commenced/liliDocument any discrepancies that may have occurred throughout the day/liliFollow lesson plans, make notations/liliBe prepared to assist in other classrooms during on duty prep hour or breaks/liliAssist administrators in implementing the policies and procedures of the school to maintain a safe learning environment for the students/liliCreate and maintain respect and fairness to all students and staff/liliAbility to address various learning techniques of students/liliMaintain student confidentiality/liliAbility to discipline students when necessary following the established policies and protocol./liliBe aware of any school policy and procedures regarding lock downs, fire drills, student discipline, etc/liliRepresent the District and PESG in a professional manner by performing all job functions at a satisfactory or above level./liliInteract with co-workers, administration, students, parents, and the community in a positive, supportive, and cooperative ways./liliPerforms other related duties, including special projects, as required or requested, consistent with reasonable expectations for the contracted position./li/ul Qualifications:ulliMust have a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Math Endorsement/liliCompletion of the required Global Compliance Network training modules/liliDemonstrated record of good attendance and punctuality./liliDemonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills./liliDemonstrated ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication./liliMust meet criminal history background requirements (requires FBI Fingerprint and SOARS clearance)/li/ul Physical Requirements:ulliAbility to stand/walk for extended periods of time/liliOccasional climbing of steps/liliAbility to hear and understand speech at normal levels/liliPotential supervision of students outside in all types of weather./liliDepending on assignment, may involve more physical activity, e.g. Physical Education classes, pre-school or special ed
